Shy Dogs? Not So Shy!
A Soft Place to Land, Inc (ASPTL) sponsored their ‘shy dog’ meet up at Zoom Room Longmont on December 11 2011. ASPTL is relatively new in the rescue world being founded in January 2010. They are a small foster-home based rescue that gives retired puppy mill dogs a new leash on life. Based in Ft. Collins, CO but with foster homes all along the Front Range, Longmont’s Zoom Room is a good midpoint for everyone to meet up.
11 shy dogs in foster care joined the shy fun and many came out of their shells to conquer the A-Frame and dog walk. We had several crawling into our laps overcoming their shyness! Visit our Facebook page to see all the photos from the event and if you are interested in any of the dogs* in the photos you can contact Sarah Stiles, President at A Soft Place to Land, Inc. via their website or phone 970-308-5416.
Shy dogs can be a product of their environment especially dogs coming out of dog mills. ASPTL holds regular meet ups with their foster home providers and new adopters to help their shy dogs socialize in a safe location. We were happy to open our doors to them for this event.
*Some of the dogs that attended were with their forever homes – please call Sarah for verification.
