Responsible Dog Ownership Day

Nisha and CyrusOn Sunday, September 25th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Zoom Room Monterey Bay will be hosting a very special event that you don’t want to miss. This is your opportunity to learn from local dog experts about topics that will make you a better educated and informed dog owner. Among our guests will be a professional dog groomer, three specialized veterinarians, an animal shelter representative, and a trainer. Each will be explaining the unique aspects of their field of expertise and also be available to answer any questions you may have.

Tina Straza, Certified Master Groomer and owner of Pet Pals will be on hand to share her many years of experience by explaining proper grooming techniques, nail clipping, bathing, ear cleaning and more. Good grooming is very important to maintaining your dog’s health. From fur to nails, she’s the expert in grooming all breeds to standard or personality.

Dr. Frank Kocher, DMV from Ocean View Veterinary Hospital will be explaining why regular vaccinations and examinations are vital to your pet enjoying a long, healthily life. Micro chipping for your dog will also be discussed. Dr. Kocher’s facility is a full-service veterinary hospital specializing in preventative care. Ocean View has been offering excellent veterinary medicine in Pacific Grove for over thirty years and is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association.

Dr. Annette Richmond, DVM  from Natural Veterinary Therapy  is also a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist and Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist. She will be offering information on alternative therapies for your pooch, including non-anesthetic teeth cleaning, acupuncture, homeopathy, physical rehabilitation, underwater treadmill, therapeutic laser, massage and chiropractic for dogs. Her goal is to heal animals with common ailments by incorporating natural medicines and rehabilitation.

Joanna Sherrill from Monterey Peninsula Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center is dedicated to compassionate care for your pet in those emergency situations. She will discuss first aid, emergency care, nutrition, food allergies, and flea control.

Heather Sweet, Outreach and Adoptions Coordinator The SPCA  for Monterey County will discuss dog adoptions and policies. The SPCA adoption fees include vaccinations, microchip, spaying or neutering, and more. Hear what Heather has to share about the value of adopting a dog or puppy from the SPCA of Monterey County. The SPCA will also have adoptable dogs available. We are very proud to support the SPCA by donating 10% of all sales that day to them along with any private donations.

Ratna Anagol, Zoom Room Monterey, will be offering her experience and insight on the value of early obedience training and the fun of teaching your dog agility. Since your dog is a member of your family, having a well-trained dog will be a pleasure to have around. Class schedules will be available for all levels of obedience, agility, and private training sessions.
