Halloween and 1st Anniversary Party
| Oct 11th, 2012

Join us as we turn into Doom Room for a frightful, furry, fun Halloween and 1st anniversary celebration!

Wow, it’s hard to believe it’s been a year already! We want to thank all of our wonderful supporters in the Claremont area for a great year. We have partnered with a great cause and will be donating 50% of the proceeds to Pets of the Homeless. In addition, we are requesting that attendees bring in a new or gently used item for our donation bin, which will earn 15% off their purchase the day of the party.

We’ll have refreshments for spooky dogs and scary owners, plus prizes in our creepy costume contest! Have fun as your pooch chases the laser lights from our Doggy Disco or tries out our agility equipment. Come see old friends or meet new ones!

What is Pets of the Homeless? Pets of the Homeless is a nonprofit volunteer organization that provides pet food and veterinary care to the homeless and less fortunate in local communities across the United States and Canada. Their efforts have effects far beyond the care of the pets themselves. 3.5 million Americans are homeless. Between 5% to 10% of homeless people have dogs and/or cats. In some areas of the country the rate is as high as 24%. Zoom Room Claremont is proud to be a collection site for Pets of the Homeless.

Sponsored by Sprouts Farmer’s Market and Papa John’s Pizza.

Doom Room Anniversary Party
| Sep 27th, 2012

Join us for a frightful, furry, fun Halloween-Anniversary celebration!

We can’t believe it…a whole year since Zoom Room opened its doors in Charlotte. We want to thank all of our fabulous clients and partners!

Proceeds Benefit Train to Adopt!

100% of the proceeds will benefit the Train to Adopt program at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control.

In the words of one Zoom Room Client, “I adopted my dog there because she was so well behaved when they brought her out to meet me!”. That’s no easy accomplishment for dogs living in a shelter. Karen Owens, and her team of Train-to-Adopt volunteers work with shelter dog to teach basic obedience, not only making them more adoptable, but keeping them mentally and emotionally healthy during their shelter stay. See below for more information about the Train to Adopt program.

At the Party, you will enjoy…

What is Train to Adopt?

The Train to Adopt program is partially funded by a Petfinder.com Foundation grant. The program brings a focus to the mental, behavioral and emotional health of shelter dogs.  By utilizing positive reinforcement training, play time, and environmental enrichment we intend to meet the following goals:

  • Increase adoptions
  • Decrease stress, stress related behaviors and lower arousal
  • Collect data to generate and develop future programs
  • Lower the length of stay in a kennel
  • Offer guidelines for Humane Care and Quality of Life for shelter dogs
