Dog Sports
| Nov 29th, 2010

Canine sports have grown in popularity over the past twenty years, when the only competition your dog might face was who got the best spot on the couch. Today, dog sports are big business, with events held nationwide and big name sponsors on board for televised events. Animal Planet and even ESPN broadcast countless events each year, ranging from Earth Dog (tunnel work) to Flyball and Dog Agility.

Lure Coursing Meets Dog Agility
| Nov 13th, 2009

Lure Coursing is a dog sport that recreates the pursuit of a hare by a hound. Spectators watch as a white plastic bag stands in for the hare and is yanked through a course comprised of a series of lines and pulleys. The dog – typically a Greyhound, Whippet, Basenji, Saluki, Afghan or Rhodesian Ridgeback – gives chase through the course, in hot pursuit of the zipping plastic bag. Good times.
